Hey All!
I’ve been working on this behind the scenes for a little while and wanted to make an official announcement!
Some time ago I thought it would be rad to do little 8-bit video game graphic inspired renderings of cryptids. In fact, somebody some time ago asked me if I would ever do anything similar, can’t remember who though!
So here’s the deal, I am releasing these as NFT’s or Non Fungible Tokens on OpenSea.io as part of my “Lil Cryptids Collection.” What is an NFT you ask? An NFT is a digital asset that can represent a real-world object, like art, music, items for games, videos, pretty much any kind of media. These items are integrated into the blockchain on market places like OpenSea which gives them their own unique identification. Ethereum & Polygon cryptocurrencies are typically used to buy and trade NFT's and it seems like this is a great new type of opportunity for artists to hop on to. I’m still learning how everything works, so I’m just putting a couple of these up at a time and will release more in the future, much like my Home State Cryptids merch collection in my shop.
So if you’re into crypto/ethereum/trading NFT’s you can find me and the Lil Cryptids Collection at: https://opensea.io/Strangeologist or you can go to my new Lil Cryptids page for the hyperlink on the navigation bar above. I plan to add some more information to the landing page there, but for now it just serves as a link to my OpenSea profile.
This is uncharted territory for me, but I think it’ll be fun the more I learn how this whole thing works! I’ll be announcing new designs on Instagram beyond the Bigfoot, Mothman, Nessie and Chupacabra graphics you see here when I post them to my OpenSea account.
Stay Tuned!
~ Jeff
